Worried about phone addiction?

Hello readers! Today we are going to discuss the most common chaos in this modern world. Yes, it’s the obsession/ addiction we all have towards our phones. Teens have a complex relationship with technology,they manage their social lives through social media and apps.

Cell phones have become such powerful tools for many people. Smartphone addiction, sometimes colloquially known as “nomophobia” (fear of being without a mobile phone). Excessive Smartphone usage usually makes the students addicted to it.

 Negative effects of excessive usage of smartphones:

  • Kids are being stalked and bullied on social media.
  • Today’s youth started deciding one’s self-worth on several likes and comments on social media which isn’t healthy.
  • Excessive usage of smartphones makes people mentally lazy.
  • It disturbs our sleep pattern.
  • Lack of Physical Activity.
  • These devices emit blue light, which can harm eyesight if started on its screen for a long time.
  • Increases loneliness and depression.
  • The heavier a person’s phone use, the greater the anxiety they experience.
  • It reduces the ability of one’s concentration and creativity.
  • It makes you socialise less with the people.
  • It reduces your confidence. For example, people prefer texting instead of interacting face to face.
  • It makes you isolate yourself from your family and friends.

Smartphones have changed our world in many ways and they have a massive role in making our daily life convenient. We can do countless things using a smartphone which wasn’t possible before. However, we can’t deny the negative effects of smartphones on society and our lives. Excessive usage of smartphones

(phone addiction) can be controlled by many ways including counselling.

Learning how to use our smartphones effectively may be one of the most important life skills any of us can learn.
